Straightforward Communication
We explain legal matters in plain terms and keep clients informed throughout each engagement, without unnecessary complexity or jargon.
Local Knowledge
Based in Kuala Lumpur, we understand the operational context that Malaysian businesses navigate — from JAKIM to the Strata Management Tribunal.
Documented Engagements
Every engagement is scoped in writing. Clients know what to expect, including timelines, deliverables, and the basis of our fee arrangements.
Discretion as Standard
Legal matters often involve commercially sensitive information. We maintain strict confidentiality as a matter of professional obligation, not just policy.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of businesses does Mandare typically work with?
Our clients include food and beverage manufacturers pursuing halal certification, media companies and independent content producers seeking regulatory clarity, and management corporations or property developers working through strata governance matters. We work with both established companies and those at an earlier stage of compliance planning.
How long does a typical legal engagement take?
It depends on the nature of the matter. A straightforward halal certification application may take two to four weeks. Media compliance reviews vary based on the client's content cycle. Strata management matters typically run four to eight weeks, though Tribunal proceedings can extend further. We outline expected timelines at the outset of each engagement.
How are fees structured?
Our fees are structured per engagement and set out in a written scope of work before we begin. The pricing shown on our Solutions page reflects the starting range for each service. Complex matters or those involving ongoing representation are priced separately following an initial consultation.
Do you handle matters outside Kuala Lumpur?
Yes. While our office is in Kuala Lumpur, many of our engagements involve clients and matters across peninsular Malaysia and beyond. Regulatory matters before federal bodies such as JAKIM and the MCMC can often be managed without requiring clients to be physically present in Kuala Lumpur throughout.
What happens at an initial consultation?
We use the initial consultation to understand your situation in sufficient detail to give a meaningful response. You should expect a clear explanation of the relevant legal framework, a preliminary view on your position or options, and an outline of how we would approach the matter if you wished to proceed. We do not use initial consultations as sales meetings.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a professional obligation for lawyers in Malaysia, and it applies from the very first conversation. Information you share with us, whether or not an engagement follows, is held in strict confidence and is not disclosed without your consent except as required by law.
